Pancakes with Syrup Traps!

Ok how adorable is that yarn?? I dyed it!!! also my son picked me that flower :) makes this picture all the more adorable!

This stitch is perfect for dishcloths, its my go to stitch for them. It has enough ridges to make it good at scrubbing.

Waffle Stitch:

Chain a multiple of two stitches plus 1

R1-ch 2 (counts as first HDC) hdc, in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each stitch across

R2-ch 2, hdc in bl of next stitch, *hdc in fl of next stitch, hdc in bl of next stitch* repeat * * across turn

Repeat R2 until piece measures desired size.

This is my new blog all about my adventures in crafting! I will share patterns, crafting techniques and lots of other fun crafty stuff here. My current obsession is with crochet (although I do many other things) sooo I thought I would share a few crochet tutorials to begin with! I hope they help you in your crafting ventures!

   The Granny Square

This is one of the best pieces of crochet to know, the granny square. It can be used for an infinite amount of things and made in a infinite amount of colors. There is pretty much nothing you cant do with these little gems when it comes to crochet. A quick google search will show you just what I mean. Below I have demonstrated how to make the most basic granny square. I hope you enjoy!

Chain 4

Join to fourth ch from hook to create a ring.

Insert hook into the ring and draw up a loop from the working yarn

Ch3 Counts as first dc throughout

Dc 2, ch 3, *Dc 3 ch 3* Repeat from * * 2 more times slst to top of ch 3

Note:You should have something that looks like this. 4 ch3 spaces should be present.

Insert hook into next ch 3 sp pull up a loop of working yarn.

ch 3 (remember this counts as first dc) dc 2, ch 3 dc 3 all in same ch 3 sp, *ch 1 sk next 3 dc, 3 dc in next ch 3 sp ch 3 3 dc* repeat * to * around. slst last ch 1 to top of first dc. It should now look like this

Insert hook into next ch 3 sp pull up loop from working yarn.

Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc, ch 3, dc 3, sk next 3 dc, *dc 3 in ch 1 sp. sk next 3 dc, dc 3, ch 3, dc 3* repeat from * to * around sl st to top of first dc.

Rolled Rose Tutorial

Every Rose has its thorns...except this one

I love to crochet! Soooo, I thought I would share a little of my passion with you!

Leaf- Both are made the same

Ch 9, Sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next 3, Dc in next 3, 6 dc in last ch, pivot so you are working on bottom of foundation chain, dc in next 3, hdc in next 3, sc in next 2, ch 3 sl st to top of first sc.

Rose-

Ch 16, dc in 3rd ch from hook 3 times, dc in next 8 3 times each, tr in each left over ch 3 times each. fasten off leaving about 6 in tail for sewing

The chain should now curl around itself, arrange it how you want it to spiral. Take a yarn needle push through the middle and back through sewing the leaves and spiral in place.

and there you go an adorable little pink rose!!
